Based on the specs alone, the Google Pixel Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 seem pretty comparable. However, there are still some significant differences to think about.

Although the two have the same starting price, you’re probably more likely to land a deal on the Samsung Galaxy Fold because it’s been on the market longer. Another major difference is that the Samsung Galaxy Fold offers stylus support, while the Google Pixel Fold is finger touch only. From a productivity standpoint, this could be a dealbreaker.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold also has a 1 TB storage option, and is lighter weight than the Google Pixel Fold (by 20 grams). The Google Pixel Fold is thinner when folded than the Samsung; however the Samsung is thinner when open.

Final thoughts

Ultimately, only time will tell whether the Google Pixel Fold takes the cake or Samsung continues to own the foldable smartphone market. While the Google Pixel Fold looks like it will be comparable to the Samsung Galaxy Fold, it’s hard to be sure of its durability and functionality until it is actually in the hands of consumers.

Regardless of whether you opt for the Google Pixel Fold or the Samsung Galaxy Fold, don’t forget to think about product protection. Foldable smartphones are expensive, and the last thing you want is to have to pay for expensive repair or replacement costs. With a product protection plan, you can protect your device from accidental damage, hardware failures, manufacturer’s defects, and more.
